Whatever source is failing to furnish definitions for Latinate plurals like CIRRI (cirrus), CROCI (crocus), and LOCI (locus), when it knows COCCI (coccus); derived adjectives like ONIONY (onion), derived adverbs like CORNILY (corny), combined forms like NONILLION (ninth thousand-fold order of magnitude), and assimilated foreign words like NOIR (as in “film noir”) is doing a disservice. The good folks at Merriam-Webster know their definitions.
